Trinity’s Response to the Coronavirus

Trinity’s mission is to help my neighbor make a positive life-changing connection with Jesus Christ.

Our mission is holistic, striving to speak to people’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

1. Physically
  • Trinity’s food pantry is open Wednesdays 4-6 and the third Saturdays of the month from 9-11 am to help families with basic needs.  This week, for example we provided food for over 100 individuals.
  • Trinity has deployed staff who grew up in Lake Geneva and Bloomfield who are serving in Kenya and Haiti.  We are sending funds to their mission sites in order to help people deal with the pandemic.
  • We support Lutheran World Relief, who’s disaster fund helps people in the USA and around the world with immediate relief.
2. Emotional
  • Part of Trinity’s ongoing mission is to help people and family’s deal with the stress of everyday life, especially now.  We sponsor Bloomfield Counseling Services (847–894 -0634); providing on-line and in-person professional counseling.  Our policy has always been to extend free counseling to first responders and their family.  For others we have a sliding scale according to one’s ability to pay. The most a person pays is $35.
  • Trinity hosts a Free legal clinic on the 3rd Saturday of the month. You may meet with a lawyers who are licensed in Wisconsin and Illinois to set up a plan for you legal problems.  Call 262-279-3052
  • Members of the congregation are keeping their eyes out for their neighbor’s needs, making sure that  our elderly and vulnerable populations are especially cared for.
3. Spiritually
  •  Typically we have hundreds of people meeting for worship every Sunday as well as community meals throughout the week.  These gatherings are central to our well-being and mission.  But now we are learning to be creative with our human interaction.
  • We provide on-line and Drive In worship services at 9 am Sundays and in-person along with live streaming videos Sundays at 10:30 am.
  • Every day Trinity provides a community daily devotion on Facebook, read by members of our church family.
  • We reach out to our children, youth and families regularly with video conferencing and on-line activities. Also at the end of each prerecorded service there will be a Kid’s Korner activity.
  • We will also provide free Bibles which will be sent to individuals directly from the warehouse in order to follow our Bible Study focusing on topics which are especially needed as we are ordered to stay-at-home: (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control).

*Health and Safety Measures

Here are all the safety measures Trinity Church is taking under CDC guidelines to make the

return to onsite worship services available to you and your family.

  • All those defined by the health department as more vulnerable (i.e. 60+ years of age,

those with compromised immune systems, those with underlying health conditions, those

who are especially anxious about being in a large group, etc.) are encouraged (but not

required) to stay at home.

  • Social distancing of 6 feet needs to be followed in all areas.
  • No volunteer or service element will involve handshaking or handing you

anything.

  • Any physical items that help our worship (like prayer cards or offering plates) will

be set out.

  • You’re encouraged to arrive 10-15 minutes early to take your temperature and take your seat, so there’s no crowding on the way in.
  • Seating will be clustered for family units by 1’s, 2’s, 4’s, 6’s – all no less than 6

feet apart, and often 10 feet apart when possible. We’ll help you find a seat.

  • We’ll dismiss from service in two waves.
Cleaning
  • We’ll sanitize all surfaces before each service per CDC recommendations.
Entering the Church
  • Entrance doors will be propped open to limit contact with door handles or greeters will hold doors open for you.
  • Signage will be placed at entrance doors asking anyone with fever or flu-like symptoms not to enter the church.
  • Hand sanitizer available at entry.
  • Your temperature will be taken. To enter the building your temp must be less then 100.1
  • Please wear a face mask upon entering the building. If you don’t have one, we will have some available.
  •  We ask that you hum while the hymns are being presented. Singing has been determined a high risk for transmission for COVID-19, because of the amount of aerosols they have the potential to generate.
  • All staff and volunteers are required to wear face masks while representing Trinity Church in their team role.

Three Ways to Worship at Trinity Right Now

  1. Church at Home will continue online. If that is where your comfort level is at, know that you will miss out on nothing by continuing to worship with us online!
  1. Church Onsite is offered with a Drive-In service at 9:00 am and a Come-In service at 10:30 am
  2. Church House to House with Your Missional Community would be awesome. You don’t need a big gathering to make it a big deal. So whether it’s on the patio or in a living room; on Sunday  morning or the middle of the week, you could start to gather according to your comfort level.

Please be aware of and participate with the Health and Safety Measures* we’ve put in place before attending.

  • We’re moving to two service times 9:00 am Drive-In Outdoor & 10:30 am Indoor.
  •  Initially, we will limit attendance to 50 in each area of worship (Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, Community Center).
  • When the Sanctuary seating capacity is reached(50), the Fellowship Hall will become an overflow room.
  •  Another onsite worship space open at those times is the Community Center will open for families with young children with a streamed worship service.  You may bring a blanket for the kids to sit on.
  •  What happens onsite will be what our online users experience on their screen. Some significant service elements may still be pre-recorded from time to time,  and shared on the screen for onsite users.
  •  Dismissal will take place by releasing half of the attendees at a time.
  • Service times and seating capacity will be adjusted regularly as new information unfolds.
  • No Food, Coffee, or Kids’ classrooms initially. We will announce the return of those things at a later date.
For the Kids
  • All kids attend the worship service with their parents. Sunday school will be during the 9:00 am Drive-In Service
  • We encourage you to make the gymnasium your worship space.
