Couples of the Old Testament
In the pages of the Old Testament we find couples who live with chronic disappointment and couples who overcome all obstacles to be together. There are arranged marriages, fiercely loving marriages, enduring marriages, an instant marriage, a coerced marriage and even a couple who had the perfect marriage – and blew it! In these strange but timeless stories we learn much about marriage, God and ourselves.
Join us to learn about the marriage relationship of Adam & Eve, Abraham & Sarah, Isaac & Rebekah, Jacob & Rachel, and other couples of the Old Testament. Call the church office or go to TrinityChurchFamily.com to sign up!
Couples of the Old Testament will take place nine Friday evenings beginning January 30 from 7:00 – 8:30pm.

Trinity and Thrivent Support Star Center Elementary School with $3200
Tuesday, December 22, 2008
Trinity Church of Pell Lake did something new this year with the proceeds from their annual November Turkey Dinner. They gave half directly to needy families in the community. $1600 from Trinity, as well as matching funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans went to support needy families in the Pell Lake area through Star Center Elementary School. Betsy Schroeder, Principal of Star Center, and Tom De Groot, Director of Discipleship at Trinity, met last month to discuss where the money would best be used. “Nearly half the students at Star Center are eligible for lunch assistance due to family financial difficulties,” Mrs. Schroeder said while thanking the congregation this past Sunday during morning worship services.
“We understand that Star Center is more connected to needy families in our community than any other organization, and therefore we are excited to partner with them to be Jesus with skin on,” De Groot said.
Schroeder further added, “This money will be used for the immediate needs of families in Pell Lake.”
Trinity intends to continue to serve the community through a partnership with Star Center. In addition, Trinity’s ReachOUT! ’09, coming in July 2009, will benefit families in the Bloomfield area who are in need of free home repair. “As we celebrate Christmas, we remember that Jesus came first to serve those who are broken or in need.” Pastor Metke shared.

Church Group Provides Support to Divorced People
Friday, April 25, 2008
The message of a new support group focused on divorce is that people don’t have to get through it alone. Trinity Church’s Divorce-Care group, led by town residents Tom and Joannie Sullivan, meets each Monday at 6:30pm. The gatherings include a video seminar featuring top divorce and recovery experts and small group discussions.
Separation and divorce can be some of the most painful and stressful experiences a person will ever face. Feelings of isolation and depression often creep in.
The video seminars are presented in television magazine format and feature interviews with experts, real-life case studies and on-location settings. After the video, Divorce-Care participants spend time as a support group, discussing the video and how it pertains to their lives.
Trinity Church is located on the corner of Route 12 and Pell Lake Drive, just five minutes from Lake Geneva and Richmond, Illinois. For questions or more information, please call 262-279-3052 or visit www.TrinityPellLake.com.
